PM assures full support to Saudi Arabia during call with Crown Prince

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his solidarity with Saudi Arabia after the attack on the oil facility of Saudi Arabia.

In a phone call made with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has expressed the country’s solidarity with the kingdom, saying that Pakistan is standing “shoulder to shoulder with the people and leaders of the kingdom.”

He appreciated the restraint of Saudi Arabia in this period of crisis and stated that it is wise on the part of the leadership of the Crown Prince.

Pakistan’s stand towards promoting peace and supporting efforts for de-escalation was also reaffirmed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in this regard.

It should be noted here that tensions have been increasing in the Middle East lately, and there have been calls for restraint and dialogue from various sides.

Earlier, Pakistan strongly condemned the missile and drone attacks on energy facilities in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia, which have been attributed to Iran.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement that Pakistan expresses deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in these attacks and extends its heartfelt condolences to the affected families.

The statement further said that Pakistan considers the violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as extremely serious and calls it a dangerous development for the peace and stability of the region.

Pakistan has expressed its full solidarity with the Saudi government and people in this difficult time and reiterated its unwavering support for the security of the Kingdom.
