PM House receives summary for new Army Chief appointment, 6 names included. The summary for the appointment of the new army chief and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Pakistan Army has been received by the Prime Minister House.

The General Headquarters (GHQ) sent the names and dossiers of the most senior lieutenant generals to the Ministry of Defense for the appointment of important posts, after which the Ministry of Defense sent a summary of the names received by the GHQ to the Prime Minister’s Office. gave

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee will also be appointed from among these lieutenant generals.

In the summary sent to the Prime Minister, the name of Lt. Gen. Asim Munir is at the first place, the name of Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza is at the second place in the list, while the name of Lt. Gen. Azhar Abbas is at the third place in the seniority list.

In the seniority list of appointments of four-star generals, Lt. Gen. Nauman Mehmood is at the fourth position, while former DG Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed’s name is at the fifth position in the list.

It should be noted that under the constitution, the power of four-star appointments in the armed forces rests with the Prime Minister and formal approval of the appointments is given by the President.
