ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched an initiative to honour overseas Pakistanis who bring considerable investments to Pakistan.

In a high-level meeting on overseas Pakistanis, the PM recognized overseas Pakistanis as Pakistans ambassadors around the world and acknowledged their commitment and contributions to Pakistan.

He commended overseas Pakistanis for attending the recent Overseas Pakistanis Convention that took place in Islamabad, as this indicates that they trust the various government policies.

The PM congratulated overseas Pakistanis for doing well globally in some professions such as medicine, teaching, engineering, and consultancy. By working hard, providing good service, and possessing high integrity, the overseas Pakistanis not only earn respect but also become successful in their fields.

For this reason, the government is going to give civil awards to overseas Pakistanis who are successful in their field outside of Pakistan and/or provide considerable remittances through the State Bank.

The government has made it a priority to resolve the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis and find investment opportunities for them in Pakistan that match their profession.

The meeting reviewed the progress in terms of the facilities and a roadmap that the government announced to improve the status of Pakistanis living abroad.

By recognizing and honouring the contributions of overseas Pakistanis, the government is demonstrating that it wants to deepen connections with overseas Pakistanis and would encourage them to connect further with Pakistan.
