ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the appointment of Syrus Qazi as new foreign Secretary of Pakistan on Friday.
According to the media reports, Syrus will be taking charge as foreign secretary after the retirement of current secretary. The current foreign secretary Asad Majeed Khan will be retiring on 16th August.
Qazi is a career diplomat who is the senior-most officer in the foreign service right now. He was serving as special secretary administration prior to his appointment. He has also served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkey and Hungery.
