ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Shairf’s health deteriorated, leading to the cancellation of the Apex Committee meeting of the National Action Plan today, sources said.

The Apex Committee session of the National Action Plan for Counter-Terrorism was scheduled to be chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.

A private channel, citing sources, reported that the premier has not chaired any meeting for the past two days, while no meeting has been scheduled today.

Prime Minister had been advised to take complete two days rest as he has been battling with fever and chest infection. Future meetings will be scheduled after a check-up this evening, sources said.

The apex committee meeting is expected to be rescheduled on Tuesday to take a detailed review of the overall situation of law and order.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will preside over the meeting in which top military and civil leadership, provincial chief ministers, and heads of intelligence agencies will participate.

The reasons for the increasing incidents of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will be reviewed and important decisions will be approved.
