Saudi authorities executed 21 Pakistani nationals in 2024

RIYADH:  According to AFP reports, more than 21 Pakistani nationals and over 100 others from other countries were executed in the largest number of foreign executions in Saudi Arabia this year.

The most recent, issued by the Saudi Press Agency states that a foreign convict from Yemen who was involved in bringing drug bullets into the Kingdom, was executed, according to the case making it a total of 101 persons for this calendar year, 2024.

This figure is close to three times the magnitude of those for the years 2022 and 2023 as captured by AFP.

The nationalities that have been executed this year among the foreigners include: 21 for Pakistan, 20 for Yemen, 14 for Syria, 10 for Nigeria, 9 for Egypt, 8 for Jordan, 7 for Ethiopia, and 3 each for India, Sudan, and Afghanistan.

Human rights organizations are concerned about the growing number of these practices.
