MUZAFFARABAD: On the special instructions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shehbaz Sharif, a free public transport service has been started for the citizens of Mirpur, which is being termed as a major development in terms of public convenience.
Commissioner Mirpur Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan formally inaugurated the Inter-City Free Public Transport Service during a ceremony.
In the first phase of the project, free travel facilities are being provided from Mirpur city to various important areas, including New City, Khaliqabad, Jatlan, and Bin Khurman.
In addition, free transport will be available to citizens on routes from Mirpur to Chichiyan, Afzalpur, Chattarpadi, and Mangla, benefiting thousands of people every day.
According to the district administration, the Mirpur Transport Union and Transport Federation have assured full cooperation in this public welfare project. The citizens welcomed this initiative and thanked Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.
Public and social circles say that the introduction of a free transport service will provide great relief, especially to students, employed people, and daily wage earners, while there will also be a significant reduction in travel expenses. The administration has indicated that this service can be extended to more areas in the future, keeping in mind the need and public demand.
