ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by a high-level delegation, visited the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters where he was briefed on the current regional security environment.

The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and the chiefs of the armed forces.

During the visit, the leadership was briefed on the developments in regional security, emerging threats and Pakistan’s counter-strategy. The briefing covered the growing threat posed by conventional military options, hybrid warfare strategies and terrorist proxies.

A comprehensive review of India’s increasingly aggressive and provocative approach on Pakistan’s eastern border was also taken. The officials reviewed in-depth the current security challenges and the steps being taken to safeguard national interests.

Earlier, the National Assembly discussed the regional situation arising in the backdrop of the Pahalgam false flag operation and India’s provocative actions following the incident.

The lawmakers expressed their resolve that the entire Pakistani nation is united in its resolve to give a befitting reply to any Indian aggression.

Earlier on Tuesday, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar told the National Assembly that after India blocked Pakistan’s digital accounts, Pakistan strategically aired a patriotic song of its armed forces on Indian YouTube channels through geo-tagging and buying advertising airtime.

He said Pakistan has effectively countered India’s propaganda globally, claiming victory on both the narrative and diplomatic fronts. He also highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent engagements with international diplomats and world leaders as part of this effort.

Tarar asserted that the Pakistani nation has always thwarted the enemy’s ambitions. “We are not aggressors, but any misadventure by the enemy will be responded to so strongly that it will be remembered for generations,” he warned.

Referring to the ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people, and reiterated that “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan.”

He further said that Pakistan is a frontline state in the war on terror and has suffered tremendous losses in this war. Tarar also revealed that Pakistan has credible and irrefutable evidence of Indian state-sponsored terrorism, including its involvement in the targeted killing of Sikhs.
