PM Shehbaz to meet CJP Qazi Faez Isa tomorrow

LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to meet Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Thursday.

Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar has confirmed this meeting officially. The meeting will take place at the Supreme Court.

Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan and Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar will accompany the Prime Minister in this meeting.

This meeting follows a letter from six judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to the Supreme Judicial Council, requesting a full-court meeting to address alleged interference and influence from members of the executive and intelligence agencies in judicial affairs.

The letter, penned by six judges of the Islamabad High Court, highlighted incidents of intimidation faced by judges from intelligence agencies.

CJP Isa has called for a full-court session to discuss the concerns raised in the judges’ letter.
