PM Shehbaz welcomes ceasefire between Iran Israel, applauded Fin czar for budget bill

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said while addressing an important meeting of the federal cabinet that the ceasefire between Israel and Iran is welcome.

The PM said that we are glad that Pakistan fully supported Iran in these difficult times.

According to the report, the federal cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif at the Parliament House. The meeting reviewed the overall situation of the country.

In the meeting, the federal cabinet was taken into confidence on the decisions of the National Security Committee meeting.

The cabinet meeting also approved a resolution on the strong role of the Prime Minister and Field Marshal during and after the tension. The federal cabinet also expressed satisfaction regarding the reduction in Iran-Israel tension.

In the meeting, the cabinet paid great tribute to the efforts of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar during the Iran-Israel conflict.

He revealed that Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir held a key meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Istanbul, which helped reinforce bilateral ties and contributed to the ceasefire.

The Finance Minister briefed the cabinet on the proposed amendments and suggestions in the Finance Bill, after which the cabinet approved the bill.

“I particularly thank President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for their active role in the budget’s preparation and approval,” he said, adding that the budget would lay the foundation for “economic relief and continued development from July 1”, the PM said.

The prime minister called on all citizens to maintain sectarian unity and peace during religious processions and gatherings as the holy month of Muharram approaches.

“The Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) grandson was martyred in Karbala this month,” he stated. “We have a shared responsibility to uphold peace and show solidarity.”

The federal cabinet approved giving the Petroleum Division the authority to set the petroleum levy.

Prayers were offered for martyr Moiz Abbas in the cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said that the Pakistan Army is making great sacrifices for the country.
