MUZAFFARABAD: A key player of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Azad Kashmir and a former member of the assembly has decided to join the Istehkam Pakistan Party.
According to sources, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Azad Kashmir suffered a major political setback when, after being ignored by the party, key PML-N player and former member of the assembly, Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan, decided to join the Istehkam Pakistan Party (IPP).
Sources say that senior PML-N leader from Azad Kashmir, Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan, along with his colleagues, will formally announce his joining the Istiqomah Pakistan Party today. He will contest the upcoming general elections from Khawra constituency on an IstehkamPakistan Party ticket.
It should be noted that Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan had won the 2021 elections from the same Khawra constituency on an IstehkamPakistan Party ticket.
He had also requested a ticket from the Muslim League (N) for the upcoming elections, but the party leadership ignored him and issued a ticket to Saqib Majeed Raja.
Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan had expressed serious reservations and displeasure over this decision of the party, after which he has now made the final decision to part ways with the PML-N and join the IPP.
