Poet Ahmad Farhad abducted by unknown men from Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Ahmad Farhad, a well-known poet, and media personality associated with several news organizations was abducted from his home by “unknown” men, his wife confirmed.

Taking on X, the abductee’s wife Ain Naqvi said, Ahmed Farhad was forcefully detained from their house at midnight. “They broke the CCTV cameras of the house and took away the digital video recorder (DVR).”

In a separate tweet, Naqvi said that Lohi Bher Police Station has not registered an FIR of Ahmad Farhad’s abduction.

In a complaint, she wrote, “My husband, Syed Farhad Ali Shah was abducted from his house tonight at 1:03 am by unidentified men without warrants.”

“These men broke into the house, damaged CCTV cameras, and took the DVR along with them. The unidentified men dragged him to a vehicle. There is no clue of where he is taken,” a complaint mentioned.

His wife Ain Naqvi has reached Islamabad High Court (IHC) to file a petition against Ahmad Farhad’s forced disappearance. Ahmad Farhad’s arrest has drawn a lot of attention from the journalist and political activist communities.
