Police foiled terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT: An attempt by terrorists to attack the Gambela police station in the southern Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was foiled, according to a police official.

The police opened fire after detecting the movement of terrorists near the police station. The terrorists fled after the police fired.

The police personnel remained completely safe in the attack, and the terrorist attack failed. IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed called and paid tribute to the Lakki Marwat police personnel.

According to RPO Bannu Region Sajjad Khan, the police force is already on alert and equipped with modern technology to deal with the terrorist attack.

Earlier, A woman was killed, and three others were injured in a drone attack in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Wednesday.

“One drone fell on the Merian police station while the other fell on a house,” police said, adding that the incident took place at night, killing a woman and injuring three others.

Meanwhile, a police station was targeted in the morning, resulting in some damage to solar panels.

The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bannu.

According to the police, a quadcopter drone was used to attack the residence and the police station.

The police have launched a search operation in both areas.
