Police mobile overturned in Lasbela claims lives of five cops

HUB: In a tragic incident, a police mobile overturned on Quetta-Karachi highway in Balochistan’s Lasbela district claiming the lives of five cops and injuring three on Monday.

According to the details, the incident occurred near wandar Dubai Mosque when a car crashed into the police mobile, resulting in a fatal accident.

“The police van overturned after a car crashed into it. Three policemen passed away on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital,” SSP Lasbela Captain (r) Naveed Alam said.

According to the police officials, the injured and deceased were initially rushed to District Headquarters Hospital in Uthal for treatment.

“The injured policemen have now been shifted to Karachi for further treatment,” SSP Lasbela said.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi took notice of the tragic incident and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased officers.

In a statement later in the day, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed grief at the death of the policemen. He said the provincial government was standing with the bereaved families in this time of pain.

He also directed authorities to provide the best medical treatment to the injured cops and prayed for their speedy recovery.
