Police seals these key points in twin cities for PTI protest today

ISLAMABAD: Police have completely sealed 9 places in Islamabad and 25 places in Rawalpindi as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is going to protest in Garrison City today (Saturday).

In Rawalpindi, areas including Faizabad Interchange, Kacha Stop, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Shamsabad, Faizabad, IJP Road, Double Road, Kattarian Bridge, Pandora Chowk, and Khanna Bridge will be sealed.

In Islamabad, locations including T Chowk, Korral, Khanna, Faizabad, IJP Junction, 26 Number, Golra Mor, B-17, and Margalla Cut on GT Road will be completely sealed.

All routes will be blocked by containers, dumpers, loaded trucks and barbed wire.

Reports said that more than 4,000 officers and personnel with anti-riot equipment will be deployed in Rawalpindi, and additional personnel will be deployed at 31 different locations. One DSP and two SHOs along with their teams will be posted at each post.

Anti-riot equipment will be provided to elite force and patrolling units to assist the Punjab Police, while the Islamabad Police will be responsible for maintaining law and order and arresting PTI protesters.

SHOs of all local police stations including Islamabad DIG Operations, SSP Operations, SP, and SDPOs will be present in the field.

Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, which prohibits gatherings of four or more people. The police authorities have been directed to show no leniency to those who disturb the law and order and arrest them immediately.

Reports also said that metro bus and mobile phone services in the twin cities will remain suspended (today) on Saturday.
