ISLAMABAD: According to the calendar, the blessed month is expected to begin on February 20 or 21, 2026, which means that now there are only 60 to 61 days left for the arrival of Ramadan.

If both the months of Rajab and Shaban complete their allotted days, then the first fast is likely to be in the third week of February, however, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make the final announcement only after the moon is sighted.

According to the calendar, if 30 fasts of Ramadan are completed, Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be on Sunday, March 22, 2026, however, in case of 29 fasts, Eid can be celebrated on Saturday, March 21. The final date of Eid will be announced by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the Shawwal moon is sighted.

It should be noted that the countdown to Ramadan has begun after the sighting of the Rajab moon in the country, because after Rajab comes Sha’ban, and then Ramadan, which is a very holy month for Muslims.
