PPP fully backs budget, condemns US strikes in Iran: Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that we support the government’s federal budget for the year 2025-26.

Addressing the National Assembly, he said that Pakistan has to prepare for war, so the defense budget has been increased by 20 percent.

He said that he is grateful to the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, and Foreign Minister for engaging the People’s Party on the budget this time.

It is a good move that the government has increased salaries and pensions, as we also wanted a further increase in salaries and pensions.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that there were desires of the People’s Party that we could not achieve in the budget. We wanted South Punjab to be given 30 percent of Punjab’s share in the PSDP, to which the Finance Minister responds that in the next budget, we will discuss with the PPP.

He said that we wanted the federal government to support Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the form of federal funding. Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are the most affected by terrorism.

The Chairman of the PPP said that farmers are being economically murdered, and an agricultural emergency should be declared.

Suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty is illegal

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that there are two options for India either to accept the Indus water Treaty, or if India chooses to build dams and canals on the Indus Waters Treaty, then Pakistan will wage war.

Addressing the National Assembly session, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty is illegal, and threatening to stop Pakistan’s water is a clear violation of the charter of the United Nations.

He said that the ceasefire is insufficient and it is necessary to establish peace between Pakistan and India to the stability of the South Asia region.

He added that India is responsible for half of the terrorist incidents in Pakistan, so should we start a war with India, no matter what terrorism there is in Pakistan?

The Chairman of the People’s Party said that Allah gave the Pakistan military a victory, a narrative victory, and a diplomatic victory over India.

we had won the war, but the lack of peace in our region is not in the interest of the people of Pakistan and India.

He said that there is a cheap copy of Netanyahu in our region. Our committee presented Pakistan’s position and narrative, where we went, and those who followed the cheap copy also reached.

During the founding PTI government, India used to say that Kashmir is our internal matter. Now, Kashmir has become an international matter. It is our success that an internal matter has become an international matter, he said while adresing the NA.

He said that the US President says that there should be mediation. India has backed away from calling Kashmir its internal matter. There is sympathy everywhere in the world regarding Kashmir. We will continue the struggle and bring justice to Kashmir.

Iran was attacked based on lies: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

We strongly condemn the attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, as Israel attacked Iran based on lies.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Iran’s sovereignty was violated, Iran’s military leadership was targeted not on the battlefield but in their homes, Iranian scientists were targeted, and the biggest violation is the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The Chairman of the PPP said that if there were an exit in attack on nuclear facilities in Iran, it would have had effects on the entire region, especially Pakistan. Yesterday, America attacked Iran’s nuclear site. The people of America do not support this war.

He said that earlier, this was said about Iraq, and now it is said about Iran that they have weapons of mass destruction. We condemn the US attack on Iran.

He said that genocide has been happening in Palestine since October. First they came to Lebanon, Yemen and now Iran. If we do not speak up now, when they come to us, there will be no one to speak up. The Israeli regime must be stopped from committing war crimes.
