Protest against Police assault on Pakistani at Manchester Airport

MANCHESTER: An incident on Tuesday involving Greater Manchester Police (GMP) saw officers responding to a fight in Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport, prompting public outrage and protests.

The assault video went social media depicts an officer using a taser and striking a man on the ground.

A significant number of demonstrators gathered to protest against a severe assault on a Pakistani family by police at Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom.

Male and female protesters raised their voices against Manchester police, demanding accountability for the officers responsible for the attack. People protested in front of Rochdale Police Station expressing their anger and demanding an end to police brutality and assault.

The incident involved two young Pakistani men who were subjected to brutal treatment by British police officers at Manchester Airport, an event captured in a widely circulated video.

Despite the mother of the victim trying to stop, the officers continued to physically assault one of the Pakistani youths. In the footage, police officers are seen repeatedly punching and kicking the young man.

Assistant Chief Constable Wasim Chuadary understood the public concern, stating such incidents are rare. Mayor Andy Burnham and National Black Police Association President Andy George described the footage as disturbing and difficult to watch.

Great Manchester Police (GMP) has referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), removing one officer from duty. The incident increased when three other police officers were attacked while arresting the suspect.

The incident led to arrests and injuries, prompting public outcry and a protest at Rochdale Police Station, with officials and community leaders expressing concern and seeking accountability
