PTI announces nationwide protests on May 9

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has announced nationwide protest demonstrations on May 9, here on Sunday.

As per the issued notification by PTI, on the directive of founder Imran Khan, PTI announced protests on May 9 across the country.

Secretary General of the PTI and opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA), Omer Ayub, has issued the notification in connection with protests.

PTI MNAs, MPAs, party ticket holders, and workers have been asked to register protests in their relevant constituencies while carrying the posters of Imran Khan. Moreover, special meetings will also be held in PTI regional and central offices. On this occasion, special prayers will be offered for the martyrs of the May 9 riots.

It should be noted that on May 9, 2023, security installations across the country, including Jinnah House in Lahore, were attacked by angry protesters.

After the riots, a crackdown was taken against the protesters, and hundreds of PTI workers were arrested and jailed for setting fire to government property and security installations in the country.
