ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founding member’s spokesperson, Niazullah Niazi, while speaking on ABN’s program “Debat @8”, said that their party had first been divided and then deprived of its election symbol, yet its popularity continues to rise.

He stated that those who believed the party was over are now afraid of its growing public support. “Winning without an election symbol proves that we live in the hearts of the people,” he remarked.

According to him, the move to de-seat members is nothing but a conspiracy to silence the party’s voice.

Niazi accused the government of using legislation for personal agendas and questioned why the Bar Council elections were being held earlier than scheduled, asking if the government was in a hurry. He said that targeting the opposition leadership is harming democracy and that despite tough times, the party has kept the hopes of the people alive.

Calling PTI more than just a political entity, Niazullah Niazi asserted, “This party is an ideology, and an ideology cannot be defeated.”

He also criticized the judiciary for being allegedly used for political purposes, saying that pressure on the judicial system increased during the passage of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

“Can justice prevail without political pressure?” he questioned, urging that true democratic values must be restored to protect the rights of the people.
