ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Sunday revealed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Azam Swati was arrested around 11 pm last night.
As per the media reports, Swati was initially taken to the Sangjani police station after her arrest, where she was detained for some time before being shifted to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) centre late at night.
The reasons for Swati’s arrest have not been revealed yet, but her detention has added to the ongoing political tension in the country.
The arrest comes amid intense scrutiny of PTI leaders and increased action by law enforcement agencies against party members.
The PTI has expressed concern over the ill-treatment of its leadership and the increasing number of arrests targeting its key figures.
