ISLAMABAD: Activist of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sanam Javed was released from jail on Sunday after an Islamabad court dismissed the case filed against her by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

After the release orders, Sanam and her family were quickly escorted by PTI lawyers.

In a brief media interaction, Sanam thanked Allah for her freedom after more than a year of “illegal” imprisonment.

Sanam’s lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq Advocate shared a picture on X.

On July 11, the Lahore High Court acquitted Sanam in the riot case registered against her in Gujranwala on May 9.

Sanam challenged her physical remand in a new case in Gujranwala after being granted bail in all the cases filed against her in Lahore.

However, she was re-arrested by the Islamabad police on Saturday as she walked out of Gujranwala Central Jail.
