Punjab Assembly Standing Committee approves Kite Flying Ordinance 2025

LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly Standing Committee on Home Affairs has approved the Punjab Kite Flying Ordinance 2025.

The ordinance is expected to be approved in the next session of the Punjab Assembly.

According to the text of the ordinance, the DC will allow kite flying in the district after obtaining permission from the government, and registration will be mandatory for kite making and selling.

Under the ordinance, making and selling kites and strings without registration will be punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a fine of Rs 500,000.

Registration has also been made mandatory for kite-flying organizations. In addition, metal strings, tinder, and sharp-edged strings will be banned.

According to the text of the ordinance, anyone caught with a prohibited string will be punished by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to Rs 2 million.

The sub-inspector will be able to arrest without a warrant on information about prohibited materials. In a district where kite flying is allowed, riding a motorcycle without taking safety measures will be banned.
