Punjab CM Maryam announces easy loans for farmers, check eligibility inside

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has endorsed a big program of Rs. 100 billion interest-free loans to benefit wheat growers in the province.

She directed a thorough strategy during a high-level meeting to increase wheat production and relieve farmers of financial pressure.

The Chief Minister stressed the reduction of the agricultural input prices before the wheat sowing season. She directed officials to ensure a proper supply of fertilizer and to provide targeted subsidies to small wheat farmers.

The plan to distribute interest-free loans worth Rs. 100 billion before the wheat cultivation began was approved at the meeting.

Maryam Nawaz vowed that farmers growing wheat would receive full government support, reiterating that the agricultural community of Punjab has the full strength of support and facilities from the provincial government.

Eligibility Criteria for Kisan Card (Phase-II Project)

  • Land Ownership:
    Farmers owning up to 25 acres of agricultural land are eligible.

Eligible farmers can receive the following through the Kisan Card:

  • Diesel

  • Fertiliser

  • Seeds

  • Agricultural chemicals
