Punjab CM Maryam announces Internship scheme with 60,000 monthly stipend

LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched an internship scheme for agriculture graduates as part of its drive to empower the youth and strengthen the agricultural sector.

As part of the scheme initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, 2,000 graduates will be provided with an internship. The initiative aims to equip young professionals joining the agricultural sector with practical training and monetary assistance.

Monthly Stipend

  • The shortlisted candidates will be given a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 while on internship.
  • The scheme aims to connect theoretical learning with practical experience, allowing the interns to be productive in the development of the province’s agriculture.

Eligibility

  • The applicants should have a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture Sciences or equivalent qualification, accepted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
  • They should also not be above the age of 25 as of the last date for submitting applications.

Deadline

  • The deadline for making applications for the program is August 15, 2025. Applicants should provide a hard copy of the application along with certified copies of academic documents, identity proof, domicile, and two latest passport-size photographs to the Director of Agriculture (Extension) of their respective districts.

Punjab Department of Agriculture is managing the program and has introduced a helpline (0800-17000) for questions. Applications may be submitted between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The internship scheme is an indication of the Punjab government’s vision for youth development and agricultural research, as stated under “Sona Ugalta Punjab.”.
