LAHORE: In a recent development, the Punjab government has waived the necessary Emission testing certification for some vehicles.
According to a statement released by the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department, Relief has been given on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
“Three-year-old vehicles are exempted from Emission Testing,” the statement read. It implies that if you purchase a new car or year year-old car, you won’t need to provide the emission testing certification.
The department announced that the Emission Testing Booths will reopen at specified areas again from Wednesday, June 11, following the Eid al-Adha holidays.
Individuals can use the services between 9 am and 5 pm at the specified booths throughout Lahore.
The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has raised the number of emission testing booths in Lahore to 60 from eight previously.
The booths are situated in strategic locations throughout the city to make it easier to test and minimize wait times.
After completing the Emission Testing Certification, the officials will paste a green sticker on the windscreen of the vehicles, which reflects that the vehicle has no adverse effect on the environment.
