LAHORE: In a groundbreaking move, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has formally launched the ‘Monthly Rashan Program’, aiming to provide essential support to over Rs1.25 million laborer families across the province.
The launch ceremony was conducted at the Expo Center, Lahore. The monthly Rashan scheme is said to be the biggest scheme the provincial government has ever launched.
This scheme is specifically launched to empower the labor community of the province. During the launch ceremony, the Punjab Chief Minister stated that this scheme is not for the lazy but for those who work hard on 12 and 14-hour shifts.
Under this scheme, Eligible workers will now be able to access a substantial and much–needed monthly payment of Rs3,000 from the Government of Punjab as part of the Ration program, rolled out digitally via Ration cards.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz recently announced that 1,220 new houses will be built for workers, and reaffirmed her commitment to the welfare programs and supporting the greatest number of hardworking families possible.
Punjab Ration Card Program is official with Rs 3000 Every Month. While focusing on social welfare in her speech, Maryam acknowledged other social welfare projects in progress, such as the launch of Green Buses, the cheapest buses in Punjab, all over the province, and the operation of 500 additional Green Buses soon.
She also noted the progress of the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital—Pakistan‘s first public sector cancer hospital—and also confirmed the opening of the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Hospital will manage.
Maryam spoke passionately about her vision for a “more just Punjab,“ reminding the old ways of governing had destroyed the people. “None of the labourers should go to sleep hungry. Our purpose is to deliver the Government to the people, not otherwise,“ Maryam stressed.
