LAHORE: Section 144 has been further extended across Punjab till November 1.
As per the details, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order was held in the Punjab Home Department, chaired by Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique.
The meeting reviewed the law and order situation and the steps taken to evacuate illegal Afghan residents. The Home Department and law enforcement agencies briefed the meeting.
The Cabinet Committee directed to ensure an atmosphere of peace and public order. On this occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the law and order situation across Punjab is under control. Islam is a religion of peace, extremism is not allowed in any form.
It may be recalled that Section 144 was also extended on October 18.
