Lahore: The Punjab government has set aside Rs1.6 billion to provide free textbooks to students across the province, showing its commitment to making education accessible.

This funding is specifically designated to ensure that students in Punjab have the necessary educational materials. The Finance Department has facilitated the distribution of this budget to the Schools Education Department through online channels.

At the same time, the School Education Department has instructed all school principals to download a tree plantation application. This is part of an ongoing campaign to plant trees in schools across Punjab, including Lahore.

The application will be used to document and share photos of tree planting activities carried out by schools. Additionally, it will track details about the types of trees planted and their growth progress within school premises.
