LAHORE: The School Education Department of Punjab government has announced two weekly holidays, on Saturday and Sunday, for the teachers in government schools across Punjab.
As per details, the new guidelines regarding weekly holiday for teachers were announced for the ongoing month of Ramadan.
Last year, the Punjab government announced two weekly holidays for schools in the province, but the teachers were bound to visit on alternate Saturdays.
Earlier, the government announced new school timings for Ramadan 2025.
According to the notification, schools will operate from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, classes will end at 12:30 pm.
The double-shift schools will start the first shift at 8:30 am till 12:00 PM, whereas the second shift will run from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The notification also states that female students will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier than the official closing time. “The revised timings aim to facilitate students and staff to observe fasts while maintaining educational activities,” the notification read.
