Punjab govt bans new car washing stations across province

LAHORE: The provincial government Punjab has imposed a complete ban on the construction of new car washing stations across the province.

According to an official notification issued by the Punjab Environment Department, there will be a complete ban on the construction of new car service stations in Punjab. Violation of the ban will be dealt with under the Pakistan Penal Code. The ban on the construction of new car wash stations will be implemented immediately.

This decision has been taken in view of the water shortage and possible drought in Punjab. According to the Environment Department, 400 liters of water is wasted during a car wash. The notification states that the new service stations will increase the drought and cause environmental, socio-economic problems.
