LAHORE: The Punjab government has given great news for livestock farmers under the third phase of the CM Punjab Livestock Card Scheme. Eligible farmers can get interest-free loans up to Rs 540,000 through the CM Punjab Livestock Card Scheme, which aims to strengthen the livestock sector and provide financial support to farmers.

According to a government announcement, the process of receiving applications for the third phase of the scheme has started. Through this financial assistance, livestock farmers will be able to buy feed, silage, mineral mixture and other approved food items for their animals from registered dealers.

This time, a new facility has also been added to the scheme, under which cash withdrawal of up to 25 percent of the total loan amount approved has been allowed. The aim of this measure is to facilitate farmers in meeting other necessary expenses.

Who can apply?

According to the conditions issued by the government, the applicant must be a resident of Punjab. In addition, he must have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 20 calves or buffaloes.

A computerized national identity card and an active mobile number registered in his name have also been made mandatory for the applicant. Moreover, all animals must be registered and verified with the Livestock and Dairy Development Department.

How to submit an application?

Registration for the scheme has started from July 15, 2026. Interested livestock farmers can submit an online application on the government portal.

In addition, guidance can also be obtained from the nearest government veterinary hospital or the Livestock Department’s facilitation centers in the registration, animal verification and application process.

The government says that this program will not only reduce the financial difficulties of farmers but will also help in increasing milk and meat production, which will further strengthen the livestock sector.
