LAHORE: Under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government has granted Rs500,000 in aid to compensate German tourist Florian Berg for his valuable items which were recently robbed in Lahore.
Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal met with Berg and assured him that all visitors to Pakistan are treated as honored guests. “We are implementing measures to ensure their safety and security,” Mengal stated.
Moreover, he also noted that the police are using advanced technology to track down the robbers and expressed confidence that the culprits would soon be apprehended.
In addition to, Florian Berg praised the kindness of the Pakistani people, saying, “The warmth of the people matches the beauty of the country’s landscapes.” He commended the Punjab government’s support and expressed his desire to visit Pakistan again, calling it his favorite country.
The robbery occurred a few days ago while Berg was camping on a street in Lahore.
