LAHORE: To facilitate students across the province, the Punjab Government aims to launch a new “Student Card” for all students enrolled in public and private educational institutions, according to media reports.
The new student card will have a wide range of features, from free public transport to their digital academic profile and extracurricular achievements, and other relevant data.
The card feature will assist the students in academic planning and career development and it will also act as gateway for national and international scholarships for higher education.
The Education Department also plans to partner with companies offering services such as career guidance and digital learning tools, further broadening the card’s utility.
The information gathered from the Student Cards will be used to construct a consolidated database, which the government hopes will enhance resource allocation and educational planning throughout Punjab.
Although a launch date has not yet been finalized, the project is reportedly well under way, says the officials.
