LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday inaugurated the Green Tractor Scheme, a ground-breaking initiative that aims to provide 9,500 tractors to farmers at subsidized prices through balloting.
Earlier, the Punjab government scheme garnered an overwhelming response, with over 1.5 million applications received from farmers across the province.
Under the Green Tractor Scheme, eligible farmers with 1 to 50 acres of agricultural land can benefit from a significant subsidy of Rs. 10 lakhs on 50 to 85 HP tractors manufactured in Pakistan.
The tractors available under the scheme include locally manufactured models from renowned companies such as Massey Ferguson, New Holland Al-Ghazi, and Millat Tractor Company.
