Punjab Implements Complete Ban on Transfers & Postings

Lahore: Punjab’s new Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has enacted a sweeping ban on all government officials’ appointments and transfers across the province. This directive, issued through an official notification, emphasizes strict adherence and enforcement.

Under the new ruling, any transfers or appointments will require special permission directly from the Chief Minister’s Office.

In her inaugural address to the assembly, Chief Minister Maryam extended an olive branch to the opposition, expressing her willingness to collaborate and engage with them. She lamented their absence during her speech, emphasizing her desire for their presence and lively debate.

Maryam reiterated her commitment to serve all citizens, regardless of political affiliation, stating that her office and heart are always open to the opposition.

Expressing gratitude to allied parties and acknowledging their support, Maryam outlined key highlights of her administration’s five-year agenda:

  • Transforming Punjab into an economic powerhouse
  • Addressing issues in Lahore and Punjab as top priorities
  • Implementing investor-friendly policies to facilitate business growth
  • Activating price control committees
  • Introducing a Ramadan package named “Nighebaan” and reinstating Ramadan Bazaar model
  • Upgrading government school infrastructure and curriculum
  • Launching Punjab’s first air ambulance service
  • Establishing Daanish schools in every district
  • Ensuring equal education quality in both private and government schools
  • Implementing a comprehensive school transport system
  • Developing state-of-the-art hospitals across Punjab
  • Providing free medicines in government hospital emergency departments
  • Collaborating with Rescue 1122 for motorway ambulance service
  • Establishing workplace daycare centers and hostels for working women
  • Implementing reforms for transgender community inclusion
  • Striving for a digital Punjab with free Wi-Fi in major cities
  • Restarting the e-library project
  • Offering more soft loans and working women hostels
  • Introducing Metro bus services in divisional headquarters
  • Focusing on south Punjab reforms
  • Expanding the Safe City project to 18 additional cities
  • Establishing more model police stations and special desks for women
  • Initiating agricultural reforms and providing free livestock
  • Launching electric car and bike initiatives
  • Rolling out the “Apna Ghar Apni Chath” plan for 100,000 houses
  • Establishing more IT parks
  • Implementing population scanning for diseases
  • Providing relief in utility bills
  • Launching new housing schemes.

Through these initiatives, Maryam Nawaz Sharif aims to steer Punjab towards progress and prosperity while ensuring inclusive governance and addressing the needs of all citizens.
