LAHORE: In a landmark development, the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and the Bank of Punjab (BoP) have formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday. This strategic alliance aims to revolutionize energy solutions in educational institutions across Punjab by providing solar panels to over 7,000 schools under the PEF’s umbrella.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to empower schools with sustainable energy solutions through accessible installment loans facilitated by the Bank of Punjab. This initiative holds immense potential to transform the educational landscape of Punjab by introducing eco-friendly and cost-effective energy alternatives.

The MoU was signed by Shahid Farid, the Managing Director of PEF, and Salman Shah, the Head of Retail Finance Division at the Bank of Punjab. Speaking at the signing ceremony, MD Shahid Farid underscored the significant impact this initiative is poised to have on educational institutions.

By incorporating solar panels, these schools are expected to witness a substantial reduction in electricity bills, thereby allowing them to allocate more resources towards enhancing the quality of education. Furthermore, this initiative is set to provide eco-friendly electricity to over 2.7 million students, fostering a greener and more sustainable environment.
