LAHORE: Punjab University has postponed the mid-term examinations for one week following the closure of roads across Punjab amid Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad.
A notification issued by the university stated that the on-campus mid-term examinations, scheduled to begin on November 25, have been postponed for one week.
Despite the postponement of exams, classes will continue as usual, the notification added. “The university’s Heads of Departments (HoDs) are expected to conduct lectures either online, in-person or in a hybrid format.”
Earlier, the university also delayed exams last week due to the Punjab government’s decision to close all educational institutions and shift to online classes due to severe smog conditions in the province including Lahore.
On the other hand, local authorities closed all educational institutions in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Monday in light of the ongoing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest.
According to reports, the Islamabad Private Schools Association announced the closure of schools, citing the current situation as the reason for this decision.
