Punjab’s ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’ housing project: Check complete details here

LAHORE: The government of Punjab has launched a new housing project, ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’, to provide affordable homes to citizens across Punjab.

In the first phase, the initiative will target six cities across the province and 100,000 apartments will be constructed. The provincial government will provide a 60% subsidy and buyers will be able to purchase the project with a 40% down payment with a payment plan of monthly installments of Rs 26,000. The price of each apartment is Rs1.5 million (15 lac). 

The scheme will be launched in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has instructed the Social Protection Authority to create rules and regulations for the scheme, ensuring a smooth and fair process for prospective homeowners

The Housing Department has submitted initial proposals for its ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’ project to the provincial government. 

CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized ensuring construction standards and sustainability so that the houses are long-lasting and eco-friendly. Prototype houses will be constructed within six weeks to demonstrate the design and features of the upcoming housing units

Initially, 5,000 apartments will be constructed on Raiwind Road in Lahore, marking the beginning of this transformative housing scheme. This initiative is a testament to Punjab’s commitment to providing affordable and quality housing to its citizens, paving the way for a brighter and more secure future.

Residents of Punjab who are low-income individuals are eligible to apply for the ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’ housing project under this scheme.
