Qatari leadership lauds Pakistan’s role in regional peace and stability

DOHA: The civil and military leadership of Qatar appreciated Pakistan’s responsible role for peace and stability in the region.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of Qatar.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also met with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Qatar, Lieutenant General Jassim Muhammad.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza attended the second meeting of the Higher Military Cooperation Committee on an official visit to Qatar.

According to the ISPR, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was presented with a guard of honor upon his arrival at the Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters.

The changing security situation in the region was discussed in General Sahir Shamshad Mirza’s meetings with the political and military leadership of Qatar.

The ISPR said that the meetings reaffirmed the joint commitment to regional and global peace and stability and discussed bilateral cooperation in the defense and security sectors.

According to the Public Relations Department, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza highlighted the historic brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar, while the Qatari leadership praised the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism.
