Rain brings relief, but heatwave alert issued nationwide

LAHORE: After intense heat, rain in Punjab, Balochistan and Upper Sindh has reduced the intensity of the heat, however, the Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert across the country.

According to the details, after intense heat and humidity in different parts of the country, strong winds and rain have knocked in Punjab, Balochistan and Upper Sindh, which has significantly reduced the temperature.

Dusty winds and rain accompanied by gusty winds and gusty winds occurred in the cities of Khanpur, Haroonabad, Fort Abbas, Hasilpur, Vehari, Tabba Sultanpur and Bhakkar in Punjab, which reduced the intensity of the heat. Clouds also fell in Jacobabad in Sindh and Dera Murad Jamali and Naseerabad areas of Balochistan.

While the Meteorological Department has predicted rain, it has also maintained a heatwave alert. There is a 45 percent chance of rain in the federal capital, while rain with strong winds is also expected in Murree, Galiyat and the Potohar region.

Thunderstorms have been predicted in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, while the weather will remain hot and dry in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan, however, strong winds are likely to blow after noon.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of a heatwave again across the country in early May.
