Rain brings relief in Lahore; dry heat persists in Karachi

LAHORE: Light and heavy rain was recorded in various areas of Lahore late last night, after which the weather became pleasant.

Rain fell in several areas including Township, Green Town, Model Town, Garhi Shahu, Dharmapura, Saddar, Mughal Pura, Harbanspura, Ichhra, Gulberg, Laxmi Chowk, Nishtar, Ferozepur Road and Canal Road.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius while the maximum was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius. More rain has been forecasted in the next 24 hours, while the weather will remain partly cloudy, the wind speed was recorded at 8 kilometers per hour and the humidity ratio was recorded at 69 percent.

In Islamabad, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy today, the temperature was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius in the morning, while it is likely to go up to 27 degrees during the day.

According to the Meteorological Department, the wind speed in the city will be 11 kmph and the humidity in the air will be more than 90 percent. There is no possibility of rain in the next 24 hours.

Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to have partly cloudy weather, while light rain may occur at some places.

The Meteorological Department has predicted thundershowers in some districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Karachi is also likely to have partly cloudy weather today and the weather is likely to remain dry. The weather will remain hot due to strong sunshine during the day, while the maximum temperature can reach 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. The current temperature has been recorded at 25 degrees Celsius.

The humidity in the air is 80 percent and the wind is blowing from the west at a speed of 7 kilometers per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of rain today, however, new spells of rain may affect the city on March 28 and 29. The city’s air quality has been declared satisfactory.
