Rain expected in upper Pakistan as heat persists in South

ISLAMABAD: Rain is expected in the upper parts of the country including Islamabad during the next 24 hours, however, the weather will remain dry in the plains. The highest temperature today was recorded in Jiwani at 46 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and the Potohar region, while rain with strong winds is also expected in upper and southeastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. The weather is predicted to remain hot and dry in other parts of the country.

The highest temperature in the country today was 46 degrees Celsius in Jiwani. 44 degrees Celsius was recorded in Mohenjo-daro and 43 degrees Celsius in Larkana.
