LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council has restored the license of Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq, counsel for Rajab Butt, and referred the matter to its disciplinary committee, officials said.

According to the council, a report on the case will be submitted to the Lahore High Court at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Additionally, the development follows directions issued by the Lahore High Court, which had instructed the Punjab Bar Council to hear objections raised by Mian Ali Ashfaq before taking a final decision.

Mian Ali Ashfaq had challenged the suspension of his license by the Punjab Bar Council in the high court, seeking its restoration and a review of the disciplinary action taken against him.
