RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police have chalked out a security and traffic plan for the upcoming Test match between Pakistan and England and practice sessions from October 21 to 28 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

As per the arrangement to handle traffic, an extra 370 traffic personnel have been deployed around the venue and on the main roads to keep the traffic flowing. Traffic officials will divert traffic to alternative routes as and when required.

For the spectators, special parking arrangements have been made at Shahbaz Sharif Park, Civil Aviation Ground on Rawal Road, and Satellite Town College, from where the shuttle service will operate.

According to the traffic plan, Stadium Road will be closed from both sides during the team movement and throughout the match from October 24 to 28. Murree Road from Faizabad to Stadium Road turn will be closed to traffic during the team movement.

During the road closure, in the first phase, the traffic going towards Faizabad will be diverted from 6th Road towards Saidpur Road. In the second phase, traffic bound for Faizabad will be diverted from Chandni Chowk towards Saidpur Road via Fifth Road and Commercial Market.

Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the match and team movement on Murree Road. The City Traffic Police urged citizens to follow traffic guidelines, use designated parking, and stay informed.
