ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has formally started the mandatory registration of pilgrims for Hajj 2026, which has started across the country from today and will continue till July 9, 2025.

According to the ministry, no fee will be charged for Hajj registration, and the process is completely free.

According to the spokesperson of the ministry, pre-registration has been made mandatory for those wishing to go for Hajj next year. Whether they choose the government Hajj scheme or the private scheme, initial registration is mandatory for all pilgrims. Even Pakistanis living abroad will have to register to ensure their participation.

The ministry says that only those people who have registered on time will be considered eligible for Hajj 2026. Registration can be done through 15 approved banks across the country, where aspirants will be able to complete their registration and later choose the government or private scheme.

This time, the ministry has clarified that it will also be necessary for pilgrims who missed out on the private Hajj scheme this year to re-register.

This registration process has been started on the instructions of the Saudi Arabian government so that the Saudi authorities can be informed about the Hajj quota based on initial data, and the final policy can be formulated based on this data.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs also said that the complete expenses, facilities, and terms and conditions of Hajj 2026 will be issued separately in the form of a Hajj policy later.

The public has been urged to complete registration immediately if they wish to perform Hajj next year to avoid any possible problems.
