Revised gas supply schedule announced for Quetta

QUETTA: A New gas load-shedding plan has been published, which calls for sui gas to be supplied every day from 5 AM to 10 PM and withheld from 10 PM to 5 AM during the summer, said the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Spokesperson.

The revised schedule attempts to guarantee a steady and sustainable gas supply for all city consumers.  the action is meant to assist in efficiently managing gas pressure and demand During the warmer months,he added.

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has verified that the load control strategy will be implemented in Quetta during the summer.

Meanwhile, Sui Northern and Sui Southern Gas Companies have submitted requests for significant increases in their tariffs to cover the fiscal year 2025-26, which will frequently lead to a price increase in the price of natural gas to consumers in Pakistan.

Sui Northern has requested a price increase of Rs. 735.59 per MMBTU, and Sui Southern requests a price increase of Rs. 2443, including adjustments for previous shortfalls.

To suffice the financials of both gas companies, Sui Northern states it needs Rs. 700 billion, while Sui Southern is requesting Rs. 44 billion. The Oil Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), which is Pakistans oil and gas regulatory authority has agreed to public hearings across major cities.
