US Global UGRAD scholarship program for Pakistan ends

ISLAMABAD: The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program for Pakistan (Global UGRAD), funded by the U.S. Department of State, has come to an end after 15 transformative years.

According to the notification issued by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), the US Department of state informed that the Global UGRAD- Pakistan program will no longer be available.

Implemented by USEFP, the program provided life-changing experiences to thousands of Pakistani students, fostering academic growth, cultural exchange, and leadership development.

Although the program’s conclusion may be disappointing for some, students can explore alternative scholarship opportunities to pursue higher education in the United States.

Various U.S. universities offer merit-based or need-based scholarships to international students. Additionally, government-sponsored scholarships, private scholarships from organizations like the Institute of International Education (IIE), and financial aid options are available.

Resources like EducationUSA, College Board, and FastWeb can help students discover and apply for these opportunities. By researching eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and award details, students can find suitable alternatives to continue their academic and professional growth.
