ISLAMABAD: Under the “Road to Mecca” project, the immigration process for 50,500 Pakistani Hajj pilgrims will be completed in Pakistan, sparing them the lengthy and tedious process in Saudi Arabia.

This initiative is expected to make the Hajj journey more convenient and hassle-free for Pakistani pilgrims.

A 45-member Saudi delegation has arrived in Pakistan to review the arrangements for this project. Officials of the Ministry of Religious Affairs gave a grand welcome to the delegation at the Islamabad International Airport.

Under the Road to Mecca project, 28,000 pilgrims will leave for Saudi Arabia from Islamabad International Airport and 21,000 from Karachi International Airport to perform Hajj.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, 100 special Hajj flights will be operated from Islamabad and 80 from Karachi. For this purpose, special counters are also being set up at the airports of both cities, where all the immigration procedures of the pilgrims will be completed.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the “Road to Mecca” project will prove to be an extraordinary facility for Pakistani pilgrims. This initiative will provide pilgrims with the opportunity to perform their Hajj rituals immediately after arriving in Saudi Arabia without going through any immigration stage.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has said that all necessary steps have been completed to provide the best facilities to Pakistani pilgrims, and full preparations have been made to make the Hajj Operation 2025 a success.
