Rs13,000 Ramadan Package: Eligibility & 9999 SMS method announced

ISLAMABAD: The procedure and eligibility conditions for receiving Rs 13,000 under the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Package have been revealed.

According to the details, in view of inflation and limited budget in Ramadan 2026, the federal government has launched Prime Minister’s Ramadan Package 9999 to provide financial assistance to low-income families.

This assistance will reach eligible households directly through a CNIC-based digital system, in which there will be no long queues or complicated forms, and Rs 13,000 will be given to deserving individuals.

A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, in which Minister for Poverty Reduction and Social Protection Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan and other relevant officials participated.

The meeting considered the request of Rs 25 billion for the Ramadan relief package by the Minister for Poverty Reduction and Social Protection.

The Finance Division said that Rs19 billion has already been allocated for this fiscal year, and approval has been given to distribute these funds immediately, while additional funds will be released as per the requirement and available resources.

The total value of the Ramadan relief package is Rs 39 billion, out of which Rs 10 billion is already with BISP, and the remaining Rs 29 billion will be provided through supplementary grants, operational expenses and reallocated funds to ensure that the program remains completely financially secure and transparent.
